Join us in the Great Hall of the Dawes House for an intimate performance by GRAMMY-nominated violinist Charlene Kluegel and pianist Katherine Petersen- lauded at her Carnegie Hall debut for creating “real music-making– concentrated and deeply felt.” Duo FAE will play compositions from their new album, “Dissidents of the Gilded Age,” an homage to the salons of the Victorian Era that became gathering places for women to express ideas outside of the home, eventually leading to the development of the suffragette movement. The evening will also feature the premiere of a new arrangement for violin and piano of “My Dearest Ruth” – the final love letter from Martin Ginsburg to his wife, the opera-loving Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg- by Evanston composer Stacy Garrop.
Tickets are limited and you won’t want to miss this! Presented as part of the Evanston Women’s History Project.
